| The Selo Branco project was born of the urgent need to fill a gap in the national art market. Selo Branco intends to create a mechanism that enables and facilitates the obtention of certificates of authenticity of works of art from the artists themselves, or from the entities that are known to represent them. The certificate of work of art is essential for the regulation, control and confidence of the market. Selo Branco, by providing this service (similarly to what already happens in other international art markets), aims to make all transactions of works of art more transparent and secure and, thus, to make the national market more dynamic. The work of art accompanied by a certificate of authenticity, in addition to the increased guarantee it gives to its owner, will certainly be a determining support in a future transmission (inheritance, donation, sharing, or in a simple commercial transaction). It will also facilitate the obtention of guarantees from financial entities, investment funds and insurance companies. Selo Branco, will also deal with obtention or confirming certificates of authenticity of works by foreign artists from the existing entities and committees for each artist.
